TransMedia Group to Publicize Stand Among Friend's Annual emb(race)® - A Celebration of Everyone's Abilities
TransMedia Group is set to shower deserving publicity on Stand Among Friends (www.standamongfriends.org), a not-for-profit organization helping to improve the lives of people with disabilities nationwide.
Headquartered in Boca Raton, Fla. , the organization provides a full complement of employment and career services for students and adults with disabilities. Founded in 1997, Stand Among Friends (SAF) promotes opportunities for its beneficiaries to live a life without limits and experience the highest degree of independence and success.
TransMedia's publicity campaign will kick off with ramping up press and attention for SAF's second annual emb(race)®, held at Florida Atlantic University 's campus on February 26, 2012 . emb(race)® is an all-inclusive family fun event featuring a 5K, 10K and one-mile family walk. Participants can race, run, walk, roll or stroll to the finish line.
"Through traditional and social media, TransMedia will garner press and exposure first in the tri-county area and then expand nationally," said Louise Canuto , Director of TransMedia Group. "Our publicity will help to encourage community involvement, draw interest of potential sponsors, and help to align partnerships between SAF and other convergent nonprofits."
"Our first race was such a success that we are looking to expand and replicate this model in other cities across the country in order to raise money, awareness and independence for those with disabilities," said Shawn Friedkin , CEO of Stand Among Friends.
With the support of the city of Boca Raton , the distinguished Dr. M. J. Saunders , President of FAU, as their Honorary Chair, coupled with TransMedia's publicity efforts, SAF is confident that they will easily exceed their monetary goal of $250,000 and double community participation since last year's race.
"SAF stands apart from many other programs of its kind in that it not only raises money and awareness, but also places its members in a wide range of careers, from hourly employment to high-paid executive positions," said Canuto, adding, "We're thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such a wonderful organization right here in our own backyard."
