Public Relations Director
 Stephen is a West Virginia native and has deep experience in
media relations, crisis communications, broadcasting, and government.
As News Director for Washington and Lee University, a Top 20 national
liberal arts college and Top 25 law school, he helped bring positive national
news and feature stories to the school in outlets like: the Washington Post Magazine,
the Wall Street Journal, the Chronicle of Higher Education, ABC News, National Public Radio, the Associated Press, C-Span, and the History Channel. As a successful talk radio and public television host for six years, he developed his ear
for listening to what works with each new audience. Additionally, his broadcasting experience included filing daily reports as Capitol Correspondent for the Metronews Radio Network. His reporting was informed by his prior experience in state government as his home state’s Deputy Secretary of State. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate with a Bachelors of Arts in history and English from West Virginia University, where he also received his law degree. He also earned a Masters in Divinity from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, with an emphasis in character ethics.
