NON-PROFIT WILL RAISE “GREEN”… BY GOING GREEN
The One Voice Education Leadership Council “Sprouts”
New Fundraising Philosophy in Honor of Earth Day

Rather than taking the traditional fundraising route, The One Voice Education Leadership Council (ELC) will raise money to provide computer training that make young men and women in Liberia employable and, at the same time, help “sow” the way to a healthier planet.
The One Voice ELC is the nation’s first non-environmental, non-profit to raise money by selling and planting trees in deforested regions around the world. They have purchased 120,000 trees from www.SeedourFuture.org and will sell each tree for one dollar.
“We were initially looking at eco-friendly products that we could buy and sell for a profit, but when we heard about Seed Our Future, we knew this opportunity was much more in our thinking,” said Rosanna Pittella, co-director of The One Voice ELC.
“By planting trees, we create oxygen and reduce carbon,” said Seed Our Future Founder Robert Stillman. “We have seen a spike in corporate responsibility and an increased effort in adopting practices that will help lead to global sustainability. That said, The One Voice ELC is the first non-profit organization to have purchased trees from us.”
The One Voice ELC hopes participating educators will get excited and teach children why it is important to plant trees, what it means to “erase a carbon footprint” and how a tree planted in Indonesia can impact the entire world.
“They are inheriting this planet; they better know something about how to make the world a better place,” said Pittella.
The One Voice ELC will receive the “2009 Greenie Award” for their commitment to improving our planet.

Seed our Future offers eco-initiatives for battling global warming and will assist corporations and non-profit organizations underwrite programs that will lead to large-scale reforestation by helping to replace the six billion trees cut down each year.
