New York-Style Fashion Show Debuting the Spring/Summer Collection of Famed Designer Victoria Lopez Castro

The Broward County Chapter of the American Red Cross is proud to present this season’s not-to-be-missed event -- the first New York Runway Fashion Show in Broward featuring the gorgeous designs of Miami’s Victoria Lopez Castro. The fundraiser will be held at the Ft. Lauderdale Grande Hotel on Thursday, March 12, 2009, beginning at 7:00 for cocktails hors d’oeuvres to be followed by the Runway Fashion Show. A champagne and dessert reception follows the show. This fashion show will be the first public viewing of haute couture designer Victoria Lopez Castro’s 2009 Spring/Summer Collection. Cuban American fashion designer Victoria Lopez Castro is considered by many as one of today’s most promising up and coming Hispanic fashion designers in the U.S. Her designs have graced the covers or have been featured in international fashion publications including Italian Vogue, W, Harpers Bazaar, Vanidades, Vogue en Espanol, Woman’s Wear Daily, Miami Herald, El Nuevo Herald, to name a few.
“We are overjoyed that one of Miami’s most famous fashion designers has chosen our fundraiser to debut her 2009 Spring and Summer collection,” says Alicia Laszewski, Chief Development Officer at the Broward County American Red Cross. “Victoria’s designs embody the flair and sophistication of South Florida with their timeless design, luxurious fabrics and fastidious attention to detail,” adds Laszewski.
Some of the celebrities who have worn Victoria Lopez Castro’s designs are Gloria Estefan, tennis pros Mary Jo Fernandez and Monica Seles, Rita Moreno, Cristina Saralegui, Vanna White and news anchor Alina Mayo Azze. Besides her A list of private clientele, her collection has been sold at Nordstrom’s, Neiman Marcus and boutiques nationwide. Presently, the collection is available at Saks Fifth Avenue Palm Beach and at her Victoria Lopez Castro boutique in Miami.
Tickets to this fashion show event are sure to sell out early as it will not only be the debut of Victoria Lopez Castro’s Spring/Summer Collection, it is a fundraiser for one of South Florida’s most deserving and hardworking organizations, the Broward County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
During the last year, the Broward County Chapter of the American Red Cross has responded to over 250 disasters in our community including fires and floods. In addition, they reached nearly 400,000 people with lifesaving Red Cross courses including Adult, Child, and Infant CPR and First Aid, water safety education, swim lessons, and lifeguard training, HIV/AIDS prevention education and babysitter training.
