O'Dwyer's Names TransMedia Group One of Top 40 Firms in Celebrity/Entertainment Publicity and Among Top 20 in Fashion
For a firm that doesn't specialize in celebrity and entertainment publicity, TransMedia Group sure has a knack for creating a star-studded spin.
In the upcoming December issue of O'Dwyer's, the PR industry's major trade publication, the Boca-Raton-based international PR firm is ranked as one of the top 40 firms in the country in Entertainment PR.
From its inception 30 years ago, TransMedia Group has a long list of celebrities it has represented, from Kathryn Crosby, wife of Bing Crosby, and actress Elke Sommer, fashion designer Pierre Cardin and artist LeRoy Neiman, to currently Suzanne Sommers, with whom TransMedia will be working in Las Vegas where she will be a keynote speaker at the World Anti-Aging Congress and Exposition hosted by the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
TransMedia's publicists have worked with Geraldo Rivera, Shirley MacLaine, Elmore Leonard, Charles Grodin and Richard Chamberlain, Jaques Pepin, Paul Prudhomme, Martin Yan, Barbara Kafka and The Frugal Gourmet.
TransMedia Group's chairman and CEO as well as author of "Spin Man," Tom Madden, got his start traveling with celebrities at ABC and NBC, where he was the #2-ranked executive under then CEO Fred Silverman. His experience working in the entertainment industry helps to give his celebrity clients a competitive edge.
Currently, TransMedia Group works with client Fitness Nutrition's spokesperson, 12-time Olympic swimming medalist Dara Torres, who made history during the Beijing Olympics as the oldest US swimming medalist at age 41. TransMedia Group works with one of the nation's leading female drag-car racer, Alexis DeJoria, daughter of the head of John Paul Mitchell Systems, John Paul DeJoria, and has represented top Indy car racers and other sports celebrities.
