FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WEST PALM BEACH, FL., OCT. 4, 2000.- The viewers of
MoneyWatchTV.com have spoken! Over 12,000 people logged on
to cast their ballot for the new anchor person of PAX TV's
unique program. Boca Raton resident, Nicole Katz, received
37% of the vote, beating out competition from all over the
world to become the show's new host.
Nicole Katz brings with her a diverse background. She has
been a broadcaster in many different formats: stocks, sports,
biotech, and home improvement. Her past affiliations include
CNBC and ESPN.
A DIFFERENT KIND OF SHOW NEEDS A DIFFERENT KIND OF ANCHOR
Created by veteran broadcaster, Mary Mills, MoneyWatchTV.com
is the first of its kind, combining an Internet site and a
daily network TV show to empower mom, dad and the kids with
"Internet Smarts."
"Finding the right person to guide viewers down the information
superhighway was an important decision. The viewers have to
like, relate to, and trust their anchorperson," said Mills.
To make sure MoneyWatchTV.com came up with the perfect match
they turned to their audience.
"The viewers obviously thought Nicole was someone they wanted
to wake up to every morning," said Mills. "The audience was
given the opportunity to choose among five outstanding candidates,
but Nicole hit a chord. She has the business savvy to understand
all the latest technological advances, but equally as important,
is her warmth and reassuring presence. This attribute makes
the millions of viewers, who may be a little confused or leery
about using the Internet, feel comfortable and capable."
Nicole, like thousands of hopefuls, sent in her video tape
audition for review earlier this year. The top five candidates
were an impressive group whose resumes included positions
with CNN, the Oprah Winfrey Show, ESPN, CBS, and CNBC. The
final auditions were held live, on the air, with viewers casting
the decisive vote.
MoneyWatchTV.com is broadcast from 6:30 to 7 AM daily on
PAX TV and continuously on the MoneyWatchTV.com website. Nicole's
tenure begins November 1.
