FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
BELTSVILLE, MD., July 17, 2000. Cowboys For Miracles (CFM) and Biospherics (NASDAQ:BINC) have teamed up to give terminally ill children a fun-filled equestrian experience. And they're making flies pay the price.

The not-for-profit cowboys organization provides its services through sales of selected products. CFM has become a distributor of "FlyCracker™," Biospherics' environmentally friendly pesticide that kills fly larvae, but is completely safe to humans, animals and the environment.

During the past two months that the two organizations have been working together, Cowboys for Miracles has sold more than a hundred bags of FlyCracker and stocked the product in Southern Nevada feed stores and sold to California feed stores.

In return for the cowboys' marketing services, Biospherics is donating a portion of the proceeds from each bag of FlyCracker sold to Cowboys for Miracles to help support their program for sick children. In addition, Biospherics is donating a quarter on every bag it sells. The biotech company further promotes CFM by applying the cowboy logo to each bag of FlyCracker, as well as citing CFM at events where FlyCracker is featured.

CFM President Tom Caywood not only sells FlyCracker, he and his partner use it exclusively in their own horse stables. "FlyCracker is the best thing around to get rid of flies," he said. "You can use it around the horses and other livestock without worrying that it's going to create more problems than the flies.

"Fly infestations are a serious problem for operators of dairy, livestock, chicken farms and other fly-attracting activities in large enclosed areas. They have found out the hard way that many pesticides are expensive, hazardous and a regulatory headache. Unlike other pesticides, FlyCracker does not need to be registered with the Federal EPA and is recognized as safe by the FDA.

FlyCracker made its debut in April at the Clark County Fair and Rodeo in Logandale, NV, where the first 50-pound bag orders were taken. Arrangements have been made for the product to be introduced at the next National Finals Rodeo sponsored by The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. The FlyCracker sales team at Biospherics is in negotiation with national distribution channels as well, and has now completed direct strategic sales to customers in the U.S. and abroad.

FlyCracker is a dry, granular substance that is sprinkled over areas prone to infestation. Unlike harsh pesticides, the new product relies on a physical, rather than a chemical, process that does not allow the fly larvae to develop into adult flies. Hence, no resistance can be developed to the new pesticide which is completely biodegradable and safe even if accidentally ingested by animals or humans.

Biospherics is making FlyCracker available both on the Internet www.FlyCracker.com and via a toll-free telephone number: 1-877-FLY-B-GON. Biospherics Incorporated is a biotechnology research company founded by Dr. Gilbert Levin who also performed research as part of NASA's mission to Mars in 1976 where Biospherics technology helped test soil samples. As a related project, Biospherics began research on non-fattening sweeteners and, in the 1990's discovered that tagatose, a natural sugar found in certain berries and dairy products, tastes like table sugar and is low in calories. The Company then invented a "green" process to make the sweetener economically using whey as the raw material. The Company is anticipating US and foreign approvals of its product.
