Ms. Latinas International Set To Steal Spotlight
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., June 11, 2003 -- Besides a celebration of Argentine tango and Latin jazz, this year's "World Trade Day" will honor U.S. Congressman Clay Shaw with the World Trade Center Palm Beach/Treasure Coast's (WTCPB/TC) "Book of Honor Award" and feature an appearance by Ms. Latinas International on Wednesday, June 11 at the Palm Beach Hilton.
World Trade Day celebration was established after the attack on the World Trade Center. It is celebrated annually on the second Wednesday of June to recognize the contributions to peace and stability made by World Trade Centers worldwide. This year, some 300 cities worldwide will demonstrate their unity in the wake of 9/11 and reaffirm their commitment to promote peace and stability through international trade and commerce.
The Book of Honor Award is presented annually by WTCPB/TC to the individual in its economic region who best represents World Trade Center Association's vision of peace and stability through global trade and commerce.
The WTCPB/TC is celebrating in style June 11th with Argentine Tango dancers, a Latin Jazz band, appearances by Ms. Latinas International, and plenty of prizes, including a 5 day/4 night Jamaica getaway and a free trial subscription to a daily financial newsletter provided by MomentumTiming.com. The party will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Hilton Palm Beach Oceanfront Resort.
"As leaders from around the world decide to put their divisions over Iraq behind them, it's important for us to encourage cooperation at all levels, not only to tackle terrorism and stop the spread of chemical weapons, but also to shore up an uncertain global economy through trade," said Al Zucaro, President of WTCPB.
The World Trade Center Association (WTCA) is the world's leading international trade organization. It is a dynamic and growing not-for-profit, non-political organization comprised of more than 300 licensed members servicing 750,000 businesses in nearly 100 countries. Founded in 1970 and headquartered in New York City, its mission is to support the establishment and successful operation of individual World Trade Centers as part of an extensive worldwide network to enhance trade, promote economic development, and foster peace.
After the complete destruction of their offices on September 11th, the WTCA received an outpouring of support from members throughout the world. The WTCA and its members
are more determined than ever to answer this evil by continuing to foster trade as the vehicle for economic development and peace. The WTCA believes the best answer to the intolerance and hatred of the attackers is to help create a world where all cultures are respected and diversity is celebrated.
