To Focus Publicity On Rising Sportswear Brand
PR Newswire -- February 17, 2003
BOCA RATON, Fla., Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- TransMedia Group announced
today it will focus national media attention on the U.S. Polo Assn.
sportswear
brand's rising entry into mid- and upper-tier department stores, as other
major clothing manufacturers defect into lower discount levels of
distribution.
The United States Polo Association is one of Jordache Enterprises'
fastest-growing sportswear brands, which offers a complete line of
fashionable
jeans, T-shirts, polo shirts and accessories sold nationwide under the
license
of the official sanctioning body in the U.S. for the sport of polo.
"We're a natural fit for retailers who have been deeply concerned by
the
recent shift in the U.S. jeanswear marketplace," said Cliff Lelonek,
President
of U.S. Polo Association.
"It's opening tremendous opportunities for U.S. Polo Assn., which we
intend to focus on fully by giving consumers in mid- and upper-tier
department
stores, unprecedented value," Lelonek said. "We intend to lead the industry
in
these very uncertain times by giving consumers what they want -- great
product
at prices they can afford."
"U.S. Polo Association's jeanswear line, clearly answers major
questions
for retailers who are very concerned with issues like serviceability, value
and replenishment," Lelonek added.
The United States Polo Association offers a wide variety of models and
fashion finishes including crosshatches, vertical slubs, sandblasted and
tinted denims.
"We're honored to have been selected by this legendary apparel company
to
tell the dramatic success story behind just one of their many brands --
USPA's
rise to one of America's premier brands of sportswear," said TransMedia
Group's President Mark Hopkinson.
TransMedia is no stranger to promoting polo -- the sport. Last year
the
firm publicized the U.S. Polo Association championship matches in Boca
Raton.
"TransMedia Group's experience in promoting the sport of polo was a
big
factor in our decision to retain them for public relations to support our
USPA
brand," Lelonek said. "We feel they did a great job generating publicity
for
the sport and now they will be just as effective in promoting the sport's
official sportswear brand -- USPA."

independent PR firms.
