Avaltus Wows Plugfest Attendees With Powerful Software Demonstrating SCORM 1.2 Compliance
-- E-Learning's Highest Industry Standard

DENVER, Fla., Aug. 28/PRNewswire/ --

Avaltus Inc., a leading provider of eLearning software and services, recently showcased a new version of its Jupiter software technology at Plugfest 6. The new software is designed to be fully compliant with the Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) for distributed learning. Attended by industry leaders in the private sector, government and military, Plugfest 6 was organized by Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) on the U.S. Army's campus of the Defense Acquisition University in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Avaltus is a subsidiary of Precision Response Corporation (PRC), which is a division of USA Interactive.

At Plugfest 6, Avaltus demonstrated the ability to: import third party SCORM 1.2 content; provide content management services to Sharable Content Objects (SCOs) and resources of the content packaging; reassemble new organizations of content from SCOs and resources; export static HTML SCOs in a SCORM 1.2 package; and test the packages on compliant Learning Management Systems.

"We are proud that our Jupiter software is SCORM compliant and delighted to continue our participation at Plugfest events in support of the ADL initiative," said Jeff Katzman, Director of Product Management for Avaltus. "By incorporating SCORM features into our software, we have been able to increase the value of our customers' content and amplify the overall value of our Jupiter product. It is inherently more valuable when the learning content of a SCORM package is easy to find, edit, recombine and publish. Our focus at Avaltus is to make content more valuable."

Plugfest 6 focused on sharing lessons learned and experiences in SCORM Version 1.2 and early SCORM Version 1.3 demonstrations and presentations, showcasing "Best in Class" e-learning content. As part of the "Best in Class Presentation," Jeff Katzman presented one of the highlights of the conference with "Liquid SCOs: Getting the Most Value from Your SCORM Content." Katzman spoke about:

* Increasing the value of SCOs with Content Management.
* Opening SCOs to multi-dimensional usages.
* The many uses for Liquid SCOs and the qualities of liquid content.
* Liquid SCO demonstration.
* Avaltus and SCORM 1.3.

Plugfest is a semi-annual event intended to provide participants with a forum for sharing their experiences in converting instructional products to comply with SCORM specifications. The program also seeks to validate and document progress in meeting the collective requirements for reuse, adaptability, interoperability, cost-effectiveness and global access. SCORM is a collection of specifications to provide a comprehensive suite of e-learning capabilities that enable interoperability, accessibility and reusability of Web-based learning content.
