Shootersville Sports Bar & Grill Pockets Predator UPA Pro Tour Championship;
100 Top World Players To Compete At Classy Billiard Hall
PR Newswire -- November 5, 2002
DELRAY BEACH, Fla., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- More than one hundred of the
world's top pool players will gather next month under the Tiffany lamps of
Shootersville Sports Bar & Grill to compete in the Super Bowl of pool, the
Predator UPA Pro Tour Championship 2002.
It's the first time that world class tournament will be held outside of
its traditional hotel environment and under the thirty-foot high ceilings of
Shootersville, Delray Beach's classy billiard hall and restaurant.
Welcoming the decision by The United Pool Players Association,
Shootersville owner Joe Dileo said, "It's an honor to be chosen to host this
exceptional championship of pool from December 4 - 8. We're pulling out
all
the stops to make this the most memorable experience for these top players
and
the people who love to watch them compete."
As part of the preparations for the championship, Shootersville, 600 N.
Congress Ave. Suite 300-A, is sprucing up its 21 custom made pool tables
with
new cloth, polishing its Tiffany lamps and adding bleachers for seating for
two hundred patrons in front of the action. The Sports Bar & Grill is also
hosting the awards banquet at the end of the tournament.
UPA President Charlie Williams says that decision to choose
Shootersville
to host the world-class pool tournament was an easy one. "Widely considered
to
be the best poolroom in Florida, Shootersville's classic pool hall
environment
was the ideal choice."
In addition to its classic pool tables, Shootersville is proud of
another
stake in history. Its main bar is the original from the well-known
Churchill's
pub in London which Dileo purchased and installed earlier this year. And
with
35 television screens, including two large screen TVs in a living room
setting, sport fans follow their teams in comfort, while selecting from a
full
menu that includes steaks and seafood.
Next month Shootersville plans to feature accomplished classical
violinist
Jaimy Lynn who accompanied Barbara Streisand at the London taping of Norman
Lear's "I Love America," for another first -- a program titled "Bank Shots
With Brahms" -- classical music to play pool.
