FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Fort Lauderdale, FL, February 5, 2001 - The South Florida Chamber of Commerce today announced that Al Otero has been named President of the South Florida Chamber of Commerce. The chamber also named David M. Newcomb VP for Palm Beach County.

"The strength of our new management team, headed by Otero and Newcomb, represents our commitment to promote the interests of the business community," said Lawrence Zolnowski, CEO of the South Florida Chamber of Commerce.

Otero, with an extensive background in chamber of commerce operations, sales and management, also founded the American Chamber of Christians in Business where he is currently the national director. Otero, in this capacity, will work to form strategic alliances with other chambers, businesses and organizations.

Newcomb also has vast experience in chamber of commerce operations. He served as Director of Membership & Advertising Sales for the Ft. Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce, and as Manager of Business Development for the Northern Palm Beaches Chamber of Commerce. Newcomb will promote and market the chamber to businesses in Palm Beach County.

The South Florida Chamber's network of support services assists in promoting partnerships between businesses. This organization offers its members a number of services including: education and improvement of businesses, detailed work programs designed for each member's needs, money-saving services and benefits.

In order to meet the unique needs of each of its members, the South Florida Chamber of Commerce first develops a comprehensive program of work designed to help each member reach their target audience and maximize their efforts. Once this has been accomplished the South Florida Chamber of Commerce offers a continuous program to maintain a successful business and keep building relationships.

Some of the current member benefits include conventional benefits, business improvement seminars, trade shows, member-to-member discounts, promotional programs and educational councils for each of its members. Members are also offered a number of networking and marketing opportunities with regional and international exposure through a bi-national chamber and a number of international organizations.
