Fort Lauderdale, FL. January 22, 2001 - Club Regent Ft. Lauderdale Beach, the private residence club, affiliate of Regent International Hotels, and part of the $31 billion-dollar Carlson Companies Inc., announced today the signing of an agreement with historic Fort Lauderdale Golf and Country Club. This exciting new association offers Club Regent's members, while in residence, full membership access to all the amenities provided by the esteemed golf and country club. The agreement is the latest development in the evolution of Florida's very first Private Residence Club, located on the oceanfront - across from Bahia Mar Yachting Center.

According to William W. Govel, President and CEO of Club Regent, "The partnership with Fort Lauderdale Golf and Country Club certainly adds to the level of prestige and opulence that Club Regent is committed to providing its members."

Fort Lauderdale Golf and Country Club, located at 415 Country Club Circle in Plantation, established in 1927, claims a diverse historical perspective. Owned by its members since 1957, the Club encompasses 300 acres in central Broward. The Club proudly features two championship 18-hole par 72 golf courses, which were recently upgraded and, in addition, have over 150 varieties of trees and outstanding practice facilities. The Club House contains a dining room that seats 250, separate men and ladies' clubrooms, and upscale cocktail lounge facilities for small gatherings.

Marie Mitchalk, Membership Director of the Fort Lauderdale Golf and Country Club, said, "We are excited about the new members that Club Regent Ft. Lauderdale Beach will introduce and are proud to share the quality facilities with new residents of Florida's first private residence club."

The South Course is the oldest in Broward County. In 1995 and 1996, the PGA selected Fort Lauderdale Golf and Country Club as "Club of the Year" and also selected the Head Golf Professional, Michael O'Brien, as "Professional of the Year" and "Merchandiser of the Year" in 1996.

Club Regent Ft. Lauderdale Beach members and their guests will enjoy the luxury of having the Club's concierge coordinate all tee times and golf events. Club Regent Ft. Lauderdale Beach will also offer a variety of highly specialized amenities and services, including planned scheduled cruises aboard the Club's impressive motor yacht, as well as, limousine transportation, spa and health club, oceanfront restaurant and café, high-tech electronics and fiber optic telecommunications, housekeeping and valet services. Occupancy is scheduled for mid-2002.
