Overall, more than 2,500 hotels located in all parts of the world will be offered at special reduced rates including more than 500 luxury hotels once the program rollout is complete, said Snyder.

"This program solves a 'catch 22' problem that has prevented many luxury hotels from discounting unsold inventory like the airlines do," said Snyder. "Luxury hotels have been afraid to reduce prices as it would risk offending guests who are paying higher rates."
