FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BOCA RATON, Fla., October 17, 2000 - The TransMedia Group announced today Silvana Rodriguez has joined the firm as an Account Executive. Rodriguez comes to TransMedia with an editorial background having previously written for WORTH International, publishers of trade publications for the travel industry, where she had been assigned to the Latin American sector. Rodriguez brings vast knowledge of the travel and leisure markets throughout Central and South America from having interviewed key persons in the travel industry, including foreign government personnel. Just prior to joining The TransMedia Group, she worked as an Editor at PR Newswire, a national wire service with international affiliates, distributing financial news and feature stories to the media.

"The new position is part of the continuing expansion of The TransMedia Group," said Mark Hopkinson, President of TransMedia. "We're extremely pleased to have Silvana join the firm. Her knowledge of the Latin American market in South Florida will help TransMedia take advantage of a number of new business opportunities nationally and internationally."

The TransMedia Group was established in 1981 in New York City by Thomas J. Madden, a former Vice President, Assistant to the President, of NBC in New York. In 1988, Madden relocated the firm to South Florida.

The TransMedia Group represents clients worldwide and has a publishing and an Internet marketing division. The firm's revenue growth of 183 percent last year made it the second fastest-growing independent public relations firm in the U.S. The firm has won numerous awards and recognitions for its national publicity campaigns, including a Bronze Anvil from The Public Relations Society of America for a public service campaign it conducted for The City of New York.
