BOCA RATON, FL., June 13, 2000--Mark Hopkinson, a former
broadcast media strategist for the British Government, today was
named President of The TransMedia Group, one of the country's
fastest-growing independent public relations firms, according
to a recent industry survey, it was announced today by TransMedia's
Chairman Thomas J. Madden.
"Mark's experience as a BBC-trained broadcast journalist,
plus his 16 years of service with the British government working
under three Prime Ministers, undoubtedly will help us to position

U.S. and internationally," said Madden.
"Having spent much of his career working in the
British Press Office in New York City, Mark has gained the respect
of countless media professionals, which already is proving to
be an asset to our national media relations efforts," said Madden.
Hopkinson, aged 42, joined TransMedia last October as Vice President
Client Services and Media Relations, a new position. He now succeeds
Margie Adelman, who left the firm.
TransMedia was established in l981 in New York City
by Madden, a former Vice President, Assistant to the President,
of NBC in New York. In l988, Madden relocated the firm to South
Florida.
TransMedia represents clients worldwide and has
a publishing and an Internet marketing division. The firm's revenue
growth of 183 percent last year made it the second fastest-growing
independent PR firm in the U.S. The firm has won numerous awards
and recognitions for its national publicity campaigns, including
a Bronze Anvil from The Public Relations Society of America for
a public service campaign it conducted for The City of New York.
Madden, the firm's founder, is the author of SPIN MAN, a book
published by TransMedia Publishing last year about the public
