WEST PALM BEACH, FL., June 7, 2000.--More than 80 million
PAX TV households across the country now have the opportunity
to wake up Monday-thru-Friday to a lively, informative new
show called MoneyWatchTV.com, designed to make them "Internet
Smart" about family finances.
A spin-off from its own website, MoneyWatchTV.com debuted
nationwide with a dot-com-friendly approach to helping families
improve their finances. Snappy, easy-to-follow tips, news
and advice on how to make the most of the Internet are presented
by anchor Denise Jakows, with field reports by Angela Manfredi
and Ed David.
The half-hour TV spin-off is the creation of veteran broadcaster
Mary Mills, who believes the show is the first to combine
an Internet site and a daily network TV show to empower mom,
dad and the children with "Internet Smarts." "We take the
whole family by the hand safely along the information highway,
stopping at insightful lookouts along the way so they can
see the best ways they can use the Internet to address their
everyday financial concerns," she said.
"While the Internet is accessible to nearly 60 percent of
all Americans, millions of families still are confused or
leery about it, with the result that they're not taking full
advantage of the good things it has to offer," Mills said.
The show includes segments on how to go online to trade stocks,
auction merchandise, get the best loan or mortgage, make the
best travel arrangements or find the best daycare.
"The family focus of MoneyWatchTV.com fits well with our
programming lineup on PAX," said Lowell "Bud" Paxson, Chairman
of Paxson Communications Corporation. "The show not only mirrors
our philosophy of providing entertaining programming for our
viewers, but extends it to helping families with their finances,"

MoneyWatchTV.com is broadcast from 6:30 to 7 A.M. daily on
PAX TV and on the MoneyWatchTV.com website continuously. TV
anchor Jakows and reporters Manfredi and David bring nearly
40 years of combined television experience to the show, including
stints at WPTV-TV (NBC), WPBF-TV (ABC) and WXEL-TV (PBS).

Mary Mills, creator of MoneyWatchTV.com says the shows anchor,
Denise Jakows taps into her extensive background in medical
reporting to present a daily feature called, "Health Link."
"She demonstrates the best ways to use the web to gain information
that can improve health, fitness, and well being-- from on-line
prescriptions, to the latest advances in medicine," she said.
"We also present the "big news" stories but with an in-depth,
easy-to-understand look. What will it mean to the average
person buying a new home, if interest rates go up? What will
a Microsoft break-up mean to windowsä users? How are PCs protected
from computer viruses? Our Field Reporter, Ed David investigates
answers to questions like these," said Mills.
"Our chief web reporter, Angela Manfredi presents a segment
with the "CLICK PICK" of the day, highlighting web pages that
have been recommended by viewers. We're also showcasing web
deals, special sales, incentives and every day we produce
an in-depth interview with someone who can help show viewers
how to make the most of their money, answering viewer questions
like how to save money or invest in 401K's," she said.
According to Mills, another segment called "NET LINK," offers
an informative, yet simple comparison of popular web sites,
showing what's best and what's not. "With "TECH CHECK," we
present a daily feature on the latest technological advances,
from advice on how to buy a digital camera, to the latest
electronic toys for children, while "PARENTING PORTAL," presents
a quick tip that can help parents navigate the World Wide
Web. This will include web sites to consider, effective filters
and advice on teaching children how to use the Internet or
monitoring know what they look at. Every parent needs to see
these tips, every day," she said.
