FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
THE MAJESTIC COMPANIES RETAINS TRANSMEDIA GROUP TO
PUBLICIZE INNOVATIVE SAFE-T-BAR™ FOR SCHOOL BUSES
-Patented safety restraint aims at protecting millions of children riding school buses-
SAN DIEGO, CA, January 17, 2001: The Majestic Companies,
Ltd. (OTC BB: MJXC), a holding company operating two wholly-owned
subsidiaries that specialize in the design and manufacture
of transportation safety equipment and relocatable modular
buildings, today announced that it has retained The TransMedia
Group to manage the corporate public relations program for
its safety products, including the SAFE-T-BAR™, a patented
safety restraint for school buses that has been road tested
at Oceanside Unified School District in Southern California.
"School bus safety is a national issue, and the solutions
developed by The Majestic Companies deserve national media
attention," said Transmedia chairman, Thomas J. Madden. "We
believe the SAFE-T-BAR is an innovative, practical and efficient
way to protect the millions of students who are at risk because
so many school buses are not equipped with seat belts. We
look forward to communicating Majestic's progress to the public
as the company continues to create a niche in the transportation
occupant-restraint industry."
Francis A. Zubrowski, chairman and CEO of The Majestic Companies,
said, "We're focused on finding solutions to growing concerns
regarding the transportation safety of school-aged children.
With regulatory involvement increasing from the state level,
New Jersey, New York, Florida, Louisiana and California have
passed restraint laws that are either effective, or on the
verge of being effective, requiring seating restraints in
school buses. As TransMedia relays our key developments to
the public and media, we are in a prime position to penetrate
the market with the SAFE-T-BAR."
The SAFE-T-BAR employs a passive locking system. Children
simply lift, sit and lower the device. The padded bar is designed
to lock in place in the event of a sudden stop, collision
or rollover. The SAFE-T-BAR™ has been tested to comply with
requisite Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS),
and is scheduled to undergo a full-scale crash test to further
substantiate the product's capability of improving school
bus safety.
