Transmedia Group Names El Nuevo Hudson Reporter
Carla Pardo Director of Hispanic Media PR

4/14/2008

Carla Pardo, a reporter and writer for one of the largest Spanish-language weekly newspapers, El Nuevo Hudson, in Jersey City, New Jersey, and a public relations professional specialized in the U.S. Hispanic and Latin American markets, has joined TransMedia Group as Director of Hispanic PR.

“Carla’s Spanish-language newspaper career has helped her to expand her media contacts with Spanish-language press nationwide and internationally,” said Thomas J. Madden, Chairman and CEO of TransMedia Group (www.transmediagroup.com).

“She’ll be a great asset to us as few publicists have as many Hispanic media contacts throughout the U.S. and South America as Carla,” he added.

Pardo will begin to work immediately on several TransMedia Group publicity projects, including Domino’s Pizza Founder Tom Monaghan’s trip this month to the Ave Maria University campus in Nicaragua and visits to Honduras and El Salvador, said TransMedia Group President Glen Calder.

She will also work on planned groundbreaking for St. Rocco’s RC Church in Pennsylvania supported by a $5 million gift from Rocco A. Abessenio, Founder and CEO of Applied Card Systems, said Calder.

“We have the perfect person to help with our publicity efforts on behalf of Mr. Monaghan’s tour through Central America and the planned construction of St. Rocco’s Church in Pennsylvania, which will provide migrant workers a needed church where they worship,” he added.

Prior to writing for Nuevo Hudson, Pardo was in charge of U.S. Hispanic market outreach at Pierson Grant Public Relations in Fort Lauderdale, where she created, developed and directed the agency’s Hispanic media coverage for all the agency’s various accounts on a regional and national level.

Clients for whom she has arranged exposure in Spanish-language media include Darden Restaurants (Red Lobster, Olive Garden), Shula’s on the Beach, Colonial Bank, Life Skills Centers, American Intercontinental University and Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
